“SMART GOVERNMENT” PROJECT

PROJECT INTRODUCTION:

The Parliament of Mongolia approved a law on Smart Government Project Financial Agreement between Mongolia and International Development Association on July 9, 2016. The Steering Committee of the Project was established by the order of the chief of Cabinet Secretariat of Government of Mongolia with ref no. 180 in 2015, the Project Implementation Unit of the Project was established by the order of Minister of Finance of Mongolia with ref no. 213 in 2015.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE:

The development objective of the project is to use ICT to improve accessibility, transparency and efficiency of public services in Mongolia.

FINANCING:

International Development Association credit (19.4 million USD)

TIMELINE:

2015-2021

IMPLEMENTING AGENCY:

Cabinet Secretariat of Government of Mongolia (management & coordination)

BENEFICIARY AGENCIES:

  • Cabinet Secretariat of Government of Mongolia
  • National Statistical Office
  • Communications and Information Technology Authority
  • The General Authority for State Registration

OUTCOMES OF THE PROJECT:

REDUCED COST

Improving benefit of technology investment by introducing NEA and Interoperability, National Disaster Center and e-property Registration System

INCREASED REVENUE

Creating businesses and increasing employment rate by establishing open data environment and implementing innovation support fund

INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY

Increased productivity of government activity and decision making based on citizens’ demand by analyzing citizen feedback

SUSTAINABILITY

Enhanced capability of producing statistical data

Strong relationship among open data users
