The State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia approved the Law on election of Aimag, Capital City, Soum and District Citizens’ Representatives' Hural on January 30, 2020. According to the resolution issued by the Parliament on April, 16, 2020, the election of Aimag, Capital City, Soum and District Citizens 'Representatives' Hural was scheduled for October 15, 2020.
In accordance with the provision of 20.4 of the Law on election of Aimag, Capital City, Soum and District Citizens’ Representatives' Hural stipulates that the state administrative body in charge of state registration shall post electoral roll on its website at least 90 days prior to the polling day. Ensuring the implementation of the law, the state administrative body in charge of state registration has compiled the information on the surname (father or mother’s), given name, age, sex, citizen identification number and domicile of eligible voting citizens on the electoral roll for each aimag, capital city, soum, district, bag and horoo and posted it on its website until the end of the election. And a voter shall check his/her registration in the electoral roll within at least 14 days before the polling day.
In the provision of 24.1 of the same law stipulates that migration from one administrative unit to another shall be stopped 60 days before the polling day and resumed the day after the polling day. In other words, civil migration will be stopped on August 16, 2020, and resumed on October 16, 2020.
